Mission Statement


I hate mission statements. I wonder how much more productive the world would be if all the people who’ve spent thousands of hours trying to come up with their mission statement had spent the time actually designing a product or coming up with a new idea...

Look – we’re an R&D oriented flavor company. We sell products by designing flavors and juice blends that work for our customers, so these are mostly cooperative projects that hopefully make us both some money. We want to make a profit (despite the government and the economy) but our primary aim is to develop long-term relationships with our customers and not to spend much time worrying about maximizing current profit – or whether what our customer want fits within our canned “mission statement”!
